JONATHON MORRIS ACTOR

EVENTS
Jonathon will be supporting his life long friend Major Mick in his fundraising for Alzheimer's Research UK
Jonathon will be supporting Major Mick in Jonathon's home town of Manchester on the 7th and 8th July 2021, in Mick's valiant effort to paddle down canals throughout the UK to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK.
Jonathon will be following Ben Fogle who supported Mick in Chichester on the first leg and Lord Montague of Beaulieu who lent his support in Beaulieu for the second leg.
Jonathon describes Major Mick as “A noble gentleman overflowing with compassion and fun”
In recognition of Major Mick’s most extraordinary selfless effort, Jonathon dedicates his own poem “I sleep with your tears” not only to Major Mick, but most importantly to all sufferers and their family and friends who suffer the torment of this terrible disease.
I SLEEP WITH YOUR TEARS
Sometimes what I see is what I fear.
Sometimes what I fear brings me to tear.
I recall your words, I know you’re in flight.
I hear your confusion, although out of sight.
I am numb, frozen, and unable to act,
My lips inert, lost in your strife.
Somehow afraid of what nestles in ear
I drown in your sadness,
I sleep with your tears.
Numb ever numb I look to the sun
To calm my aching breath.
In early hours I rise unable to wait.
I scribble down words knowing I am lost.
It comforts, lends sane to insane, makes bearable your loss.
And as night turns to day I come to grapple with all confusion,
I create a feeble manuscript.
But like the joker and jester convinced, it’s all an allusion.
A beginning and middle denied a denouement.
Writing may soothe, but it is transient, inconclusive.
Yet I know it to be sincere,
For as endless tide rears, once again I’m submerged, consumed
And carried away-
To sleep with your tears.
